New Photos From 'The Rings Of Power' Show Off New Locations
Several new images have been released for Amazon Prime Video’s upcoming Tolkien-based event series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power.
Due to air on 2nd September, the highly anticipated series will delve into the history of Middle Earth with a storyline set thousands of years before the events of the Peter Jackson movies took place. Taking place during the Second Age, the series will explore the rise of Sauron and the forging of the great rings that would go on to cause so many problems for the denizens of the mythical land of legend.

In a recent exclusive, Entertainment Weekly was given access to a goblin’s trove of new images from the series to whet the appetites of those eager for more adventures in Middle Earth, including closer looks at locations such as Khazad-dûm, the domain of the Dwarves (and eventual residence of the Balrog), and the kingdom of Numenor, along with its Queen Regent Miriel, played by Cynthia Addai-Robinson.
Though Numenor was mentioned in Jackson’s 2001-2003 trilogy, The Rings of Power will take a much closer look at the kingdom whose rulers are descended from Elrond’s half-Elven brother Elros. Together with a more prominent role for Morfydd Clark’s Galadriel, generations before she became the stately figure portrayed by Cate Blanchett, and an exploration into Aragorn's ancestors Elendil (Lloyd Owen) and son Isildur (Maxim Baldry), who would be responsible for the eventual defeat of Sauron, The Rings of Power looks to be shaping up to be a fascinating exploration of the early years of Tolkiens epic.
