While the time in the handful of decades before and after the original trilogy are extremely well explored by Disney Star Wars, and Legends did a solid job of exploring the centuries afterward, and many millenniums beforehand, the handful of centuries before the time of The Phantom Menace is left mostly unexplored. The only thing that has dared flesh out the era is The High Republic era, a series of books that tackles what the Jedi order was like at that point.

As the era enters its third “phase”, with the book The Eye of Darkness written by George Mann, New concept art has been released. Art for the cover character Marchion Ro has been released, as has art for Avar Kriss, Porter Engle, Burryaga, Bell Zettifar, Ember, Vernesta" “Vern” Rwoh, and Ghirra Starros, all characters from the newest book. It appears some time has passed, and descriptions of each character within their new status quo have been updated in their new look for example, “Vern is more mature. She’s no longer the young Jedi Padawan that we knew. When we see her, we know she is now capable of holding her ground on her own. She’s a badass, now more than she ever was,” as described by Artist, MinJi Yoon.
