A new chapter in the Galaxy is about to unfold, but first, some shorts from an unexpected place. The official Star Wars Japan Instagram account has announced a new series of shorts about everyone’s favorite, baby Yoda, Grogu. Titled Grogu: Cutest In The Galaxy, the series focuses on the titular character, with the first short releasing this Friday and a new short or two being planned for a monthly release. This series ties into a merchandise line also titled Grogu: Cutest In The Galaxy, which debuted at Tokyo Comic Con. It doesn't look like the best thing in the world, but it sounds entertaining, at the very least.

This isn’t the first time anime studios and mangaka have worked with the franchise. Polygon Pictures and Production I.G. both contributed to the animation of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, with the latter studio returning to work on Star Wars: Resistance. Various manga based on Star Wars have been released over the years, some of which were based on the original movies. Finally, Star Wars: Visions, in its first and upcoming third seasons, was animated by several high-profile Japanese studios. Grogu: Cutest In The Galaxy is just the latest in this series of collaborations.
