Netflix has released a trailer for a new Wallace & Gromit film, Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Foul, which will be released on its streaming platform in January 2025.  The Wallace & Gromit series features a madcap inventor, Wallace, and his faithful dog, Gromit, and their misadventures with Wallace’s inventions.

It originally started as a series of shorts produced by UK-based Aardman Studios in the 1990s and early 2000s, as well as a television series and subsequent film, Wallace & Gromit: Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005). Aardman Studios is also credited with producing other notable animated features such as Chicken Run (2000) and Shaun the Sheep (2015). Aardman Studios even contributed a segment (I Am Your Mother) to the second season of Star Wars: Visions (2021-).

The anticipated release date of the film on Netflix is  January 3, 2025. It will be the first Wallace & Gromit film released since the original Wallace voiceover actor, Peter Sallis, passed in 2017. It will also be the first television streaming special in the franchise.  The plot of the film, according to IMDb.com, is described as thus:

Gromit's concern that Wallace has become over-dependent on his inventions proves justified when Wallace invents a "smart gnome" that seems to develop a mind of its own. As events spiral out of control, it falls to Gromit to put aside his qualms and battle sinister forces - or Wallace may never be able to invent again.
