Geoff Keighley claimed there would be huge announcements at the Game Awards, and he delivered on that claim. A night of big announcements was capped by the reveal of what Naughty Dog’s next big game would be. Fans knew something was coming, as it was revealed about a week prior that Troy Baker, the all-star voice actor commonly working on Naughty Dog games, was going to be in Naughty Dog’s next game.

At the end of the awards, it was revealed that the Naughty Dog game was something called Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet. It’s a space-oriented game about a bounty hunter named Jordan A. Mun, who is stranded on a planet called Sempiria. Communication from the planet went out several hundred years ago, and anyone who tries to figure out why falls victim to a galactic Bermuda Triangle.

The game has a retrofuturism element to it and apparently a lot of corporate licensing. In the reveal, Jordan is piloting a ship that bears a Porsche logo, and when you see her shoes, they’re clearly Adidas. There’s even a CD player (not sure if some younger readers will know what that is)! It’s almost like a 1990s upgrade to the Nostromo. All in a spaceship. There's even a Naughty Dog version of a lightsaber as Jordan takes on a big robot.

Neil Druckman, head of Naughty Dog, is remaining tight-lipped at the moment, but he did say that Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross of Nine Inch Nails are working on the score for the game. Jordan herself is played by Tati Gabrielle, an actress and voice actor who has played in other Naughty Dog-related IPs like Uncharted, the movie, and The Last of Us series. She’ll be joined by Troy Baker, Naughty Dog veteran, and Kumail Nanjiani as well.
