'My Hero Academia' Anime Drops Release Announcements For Upcoming 7th Season And Movie

With Jump Festa ‘24 in full swing this weekend in Japan, TOHO Animation and Studio Bones dropped some major updates for what’s coming from My Hero Academia. As previously reported, it was recently confirmed that the seventh season of My Hero Academia would air starting this Spring.

With the reveal of a new trailer at Jump Festa, it has now been confirmed that the new season will begin airing on May 4th, 2024. It was also revealed that season seven would pick up immediately following the finale of season six, with the highly-anticipated showdown between main villain Tomura Shigaraki and America’s Number One Hero, Star, and Stripe (voiced by Romi Park, best known for her work on Fullmetal Alchemist, Attack on Titan and Bleach).

Additionally, a four-part special titled ‘My Hero Academia Memories’ will air in the weeks before new episodes. These special episodes will serve as a recap of the series' past six seasons.

In other My Hero Academia news, more details about the upcoming fourth movie. It has now been confirmed that the film will be released in Japanese theaters this coming summer, with creator Kohei Horikoshi serving as the movie's general supervisor and character designer. The film will have an original story set during the events of the sixth season of the anime. While there are no details about an international release, MHA fans can likely expect the film to be released worldwide later in 2024.

All six seasons of My Hero Academia are available for streaming on Crunchyroll and Hulu. All three movies are streaming on Starz.
