Fans of Five Nights at Freddy’s start getting excited because we finally have new details about the sequel! The film took fans by storm last October when it hit theaters and Peacock. The film not only grossed $297.1 million at the global box office, but it also holds the title of Blumhouse’s highest-grossing production at the global box office. Now we have information directly from star Matthew Lillard about when production of the sequel will begin.

After the film’s release last year, the stars were not able to express much excitement due to the strike, but as soon as they were allowed, both Lillard and his co-star Josh Hutcherson were quick to express excitement about a possible sequel. It was finally announced in April that there would be a sequel and that it was going to be released on December 5, 2025. Thanks to Lillard, we now have confirmation that the sequel will begin production this fall. The actor told Perri Nemiroff on Collider Forces, “So this morning, I got a text with my dates. So, my dates are the beginning of November and another series of dates.” There you have it, in less than a month, the sequel will officially be in production!

For those of you who are not familiar with the film, it is based on a hugely popular horror game franchise. A security guard, played by Hutcherson in the film, is working the night shift at an abandoned pizza chain, and strange things begin to happen. It is revealed that multiple children went missing in the restaurant, and the animatronics may or may not be responsible.

You can stream Five Nights at Freddy’s on Amazon Prime Video.
