Marvel's 'Moon Girl And Devil Dinosaur' Roar Into The Emmys With 8 Nominations
Although the date for the ceremony is still TBA, the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (NATAS) has announced the nominees for the Children’s & Family Emmys (CAFE) on November 2. It will only be the 2nd time that these Emmys are awarded (in addition to the more traditional Daytime Emmys) and NATAS will likely wait for the end of the ongoing strike between SAG and AFTRA before confirming the dates, but last year's ceremony took place on December 10 and 11, so a target date around the same time this year is likely.
The CAFE includes more than 50 categories, covering both live-action and animated TV shows for a target audience ranging from preschool kids to young teens. Among the top nominees, this year is Disney Channel's Moon Girl and the Devil Dinosaur, with eight chances to take home a prize.

The animated show about Lunella Lafayette, a 13 years old black girl who accidentally opens a portal and brings a red Tyrannosaurus Rex into current-day New York and turns into a superhero named Moon Girl, started on February 10 and was renewed for a second season (to be aired in 2024) months before its premiere.
The show received acclaim from critics for its writing, animation, and soundtrack and was nominated in the following categories:
CHILDREN’S OR YOUNG TEEN ANIMATED SERIES
ANIMATED SPECIAL (episode “Moon Girl Landing”)
VOICE PERFORMANCE IN A CHILDREN’S OR YOUNG TEEN PROGRAM (Laurence Fishburne as The Beyonder)
WRITING FOR AN ANIMATED CHILDREN’S OR YOUNG TEEN PROGRAM
VOICE DIRECTING FOR AN ANIMATED SERIES
EDITING FOR AN ANIMATED PROGRAM
CASTING FOR AN ANIMATED PROGRAM
The competition will be tough but as one fan on X (Twitter) pointed out: "It better win on any of those categories."
