Margot Robbie And Tom Hanks Highlight Wes Anderson’s Most Star-Studded Cast In ‘Asteroid City’ Trailer
Wes Anderson’s eleventh film Asteroid City has debuted its first trailer, revealing the director’s most star-studded cast to date. The film will star Jason Schwartzman, Tom Hanks, Margot Robbie, Scarlett Johansson, Jeffrey Wright, Tilda Swinton, Bryan Cranston, Edward Norton, Adrien Brody, Liev Schreiber, Hope Davis, Stephen Park, Rupert Friend, Maya Hawke, Steve Carrell, Matt Dillion, Hong Chau, Willem Dafoe, Tony Revelori, Jake Ryan and Jeff Goldblum.
The romantic comedy-drama is set in 1955 in a fictional town called Asteroid City. It will focus on a Junior Stargazer/Space Cadet convention which brings students and parents from across the country for a scholarly competition. However, a world-changing occurrence disrupts what should have been a mundane gathering as the characters come into contact with an alien lifeform and are quarantined in the town for an undetermined amount of time.
Fans can anticipate similar Wes Anderson antics from awkward interactions like Jason Schwartzman’s character discussing his relationship with his dead wife’s father (played by Tom Hanks), along with his poor attempt at flirting with Scarlett Johansson’s character.
Asteroid City opens for a limited release on June 16th and nationwide on June 23rd.
