In the run-up to a film, oftentimes major spoilers are leaked onto social media in the forms of clips, cameos, and plot lines. While this is typically expected of anonymous internet users, sometimes trailer editors slip up and reveal something a little too early. This was the case in the latest Shazam: Fury of the Gods TV Spot, leading director David F. Sandberg to urge fans to keep off of social media to not spoil the surprise.

Following the cancellation of Wonder Woman 3, rumors swirled that audiences had yet to see the last of Diana Prince. Quickly, the rumors spread like wildfire that audiences could expect Gal Gadot to return in the upcoming Shazam sequel. Friday night’s WWE Smackdown confirmed these rumors with a TV spot that featured the Amazonian princess telling the Shazam to “stick to saving the world, kid.”

With Gadot now confirmed for Shazam: Fury of the Gods and Ben Affleck for The Flash and Aquaman: The Lost Kingdom, it will be exciting to see who else may reprise their roles one last time. The DCEU may be wrapping up to make way for James Gunn’s DCU, but this cameo makes it clear that the cinematic universe still has a few last cards up its sleeve. Be sure to catch Billy Batson and the rest of the Shazamily when Shazam: Fury of the Gods flies into theaters on March 17th, 2023.
