The sitcom about the Nelson family (Ozzie and Harriet and their two sons, David and Nicky) started as a radio program before it was bought over to television and ran from 1952 until 1966, first as black-and-white and only the last season in color. Until December 2021, when it was surpassed by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, it was the longest-running live-action TV sitcom, and it still holds the record for most produced episodes in this genre with 435.
Curiously enough, Blair had already appeared in other roles before her marriage with David was written into the series, after her real-life wedding. She stayed on the show from 1961 until its last season, appearing in 28 episodes. The end of The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet also meant the end of Blair's acting career.
June and David (who died in 2011) divorced in 1975, and the couple had two sons.
