In a recent interview conducted by Ramin Setoodeh for Variety, Jude Law dug more into his role in the next Star Wars Disney+ show, Skeleton Crew.

Law spoke about how, growing up in South London, he had watched and loved the original Star Wars movies. When approached to join Skeleton Crew, though, he was hesitant, with concerns about getting his role in the franchise right. He ultimately said yes after several conversations with the series’ creator, Jon Watts, secure in the belief that he wouldn’t drop the ball.

The discussion then shifted to exploring the high degree of involvement and interest Law has in the creation of Star Wars since he wishes to “see how the wizard does it” as he puts it. Law praised the puppetry and technical effects in Skeleton Crew, as well as the costume design, highlighting physical details like clasps and ties dominating the fashion of Star Wars as opposed to buttons.

He next jumped to praising the directorial and cinematographical work, noting how certain shots are prohibited in Star Wars. Cameras cannot push from an internal view out through a window into space; they have to be two separate shots. Law makes the note that when someone sees the shot, it makes one realize they are in Star Wars.

In a final exchange ending the interviewer’s questions on Skeleton Crew, Jude Law remains vague about whether his character, Jod Na Nawood, has powers in the Force. This detail has been a source of growing interest from fans due to comments made in other recent articles about Jod’s status as possibly possessing the Force, though Law and others have hinted that Jod is more complicated than simply being a surviving Jedi.

We excitedly wait to see just what sort of character Jude Law will be bringing to the screen this December.
