First Look At The Monsters In 'Dark Universe', Part Of Universal's 'Epic Universe'
Universal has been trying for years to create a dark universe that features its monsters from the ‘30s and ‘50s. Their first attempt at this came in the form of films that unfortunately did not do well at the box office; however, their newest plan may prove to be their best yet. Coming May 22, 2025, Universal’s Epic Universe will join the iconic Universal theme park in Orlando. One of the most exciting aspects of this new park is the Dark Universe section, which features classic monsters like Frankenstein’s Monster, Dracula, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Bride of Frankenstein, and the Wolfman. While these characters and others will be roaming around the area for pictures and fan interactions, the most exciting aspect is the ride, Monster Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, which will be the crown jewel of the Dark Universe.
The ride will bring riders into the catacombs underneath Frankenstein Manor and is being billed as the scariest attraction the theme park has ever built. Riders will meet Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the great-great-granddaughter of the madman who created Frankenstein’s Monster all those decades ago. She will show riders her twisted experiments that were carried out to prove she is just as smart as the original Dr. Frankenstein. Unfortunately, things go awry and will bring riders face to face with more than 14 horrifying animatronics. The animatronics will feature Frankenstein’s Monster standing at nine-feet-tall and weighing more than 800 pounds, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, Dracula, and the Wolfman. These animatronics will move in ways that no other animatronics in the park have moved before, and the creators are guaranteeing riders a terrifying ride.
