Jon Bernthal Has Been Training With A Former Punisher For 'Daredevil: Born Again'

Various actors have taken on the role of The Punisher over the years, with the latest being Jon Bernthal for the Netflix-era Marvel Television series, Punisher. The characters of those series, others including Luke Cage, Jessica Jones, and Daredevil, seem to slowly be making the jump to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Bernthal is set to reprise his role as The Punisher, with his training to get back into character taking place across the last year.
That training was with a predecessor of the role, Thomas Jane, star of 2004’s The Punisher. Bernthal shared that the two had been training across the last year during a panel at GalaxyCon Releigh, which provides new context to an Instagram video of last year. That video showed Bernthal and Jane at a shooting range, which many assumed had just been a meeting of actors who shared a role.
Bernthal’s Punisher will be joining Charlie Cox’s Daredevil for upcoming Disney+ series Daredevil: Born Again. This series keeps continuity with the Netflix series Daredevil while also bringing those events into the MCU in a more definitive way. Daredevil: Born Again is expected to premiere on Disney+ in March 2025, with more information expected at this year’s D23 expo.
