Jodie Turner-Smith Will More Than Likely Join The Cast Of 'Star Wars: Acolyte'
The latest rumor about the upcoming Disney+ series Star Wars: The Acolyte is Jodie Turner-Smith will join Amandla Stenberg in the show. Stenberg is the only confirmed cast member of the forthcoming mystery thriller. The show has been in development for the past two years. And many of the show’s details are still under wraps; however, The Direct reports how Loki director Leslye Headland is rumored to direct the series.
As we understand the plot to this point, fans can expect the upcoming sequel to occur during the final days of the High Republic era, which is at least a century before the events in Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace. Fans hope to see a period when the Jedi are at the height of their powers.
For context, an acolyte is an individual in the Star Wars universe capable of using force but learns to harness energy from a Sith Lord. Production will begin in late autumn in London. Turner-Smith rose to popularity from the show Queen & Slim and as the lead in the recent miniseries Anne Boleyn. She will star beside Adam Driver in White Noise and opposite Jennifer Anniston and Adam Sandler in Murder Mystery 2 on Netflix.
