CD Projeckt Red announced its first DLC for Cyberpunk 2077 early this week. The expansion will be titled Phantom Liberty and features new locations and storylines for the game. The game development studio also released a teaser trailer for the expansion after its announcement on a Night City Wire live stream on Tuesday. The studio described Phantom Liberty as a “spy-thriller expansion” for the game, “set in an all-new district of Night City”. The game will feature a new plot style and a cast of characters while expanding on available weapons and the mysterious corners of Night City.

The trailer teases shots of a dark and sprawling city ravaged by military forces as the protagonist, V, pledges an oath of allegiance to the United States of America. It also features Keanu Reeves returning to the game to voice Johnny Silverhand.  In the trailer, he warns V that her oath might have been “a bad idea”. While the DLC is not set to release until 2023, fans can look forward to a spinoff anime debuting on Netflix on September 13th. The company is also releasing an Edgerunners-themed update for the game ahead of the Netflix series.

The DLC will be released in 2023 as next-gen only for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC and Stadia. The forthcoming download will serve to expand the storyline and the possibilities waiting for players in Night City.
