Henry Cavill Gives Update On His 'Warhammer' Project

Henry Cavill has mentioned again his overseeing Amazon’s Prime Video Warhammer 40K universe and his excitement at bringing it to screens. His involvement was announced late in 2022 when Amazon revealed they had secured the rights to adapt the franchise. Cavill’s latest words on those projects come from an interview with Josh Horowitz.
“It is the greatest privilege of my professional career to have this opportunity. I can’t say too much. Again, it’s early days still. But to have this opportunity to bring it to screen, and be at the tiller so it can be faithful, is key to me.” Cavill also reiterated his passion for Warhammer, “This is the stuff I’ve been dealing with since I was a kid. This is the stuff I spend my free time daydreaming about, as an adult as well, and I get to bring it to life. There is no greater reason than I joined the industry than doing something like this.”

Cavill’s passion for the Warhammer franchise should translate into giving other fans of the Games Workshop franchise everything they could want from an on-screen adaptation of the figure-based game. Swapping the high fantasy of the main Warhammer game for science-fiction, Warhammer 40K sees its lore focus on a dark era for the galaxy trapped in an endless war against alien races and supernatural powers.
