Harry Lawtey, Best Known For His Role In 'Industry' Joins The Cast Of ‘Joker: Folie à Deux’
Casting for the DC film with the clearest future has continued. Harry Lawtey, the British actor who rose to fame as Robert Spearing on the HBO and BBC series Industry has joined the cast of Joker: Folie à Deux.
No details are available yet, however, the role is expected to be quite major. He joins the returning Joaquin Phoenix as Arthur Fleck, as well as Zazie Beatz. Fellow new cast members include Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn, Catherine Keener, Brendan Gleeson, and Jacob Lofland. The film, which like its predecessor Todd Phillips will direct from a script written with Scott Silver, is reported to be a musical within Arkham Asylum.
While in 2023 Blue Beetle is surrounded by films long delayed by COVID, the Joker sequel is currently the only DC-based film scheduled for 2024, specifically October 4, 2024. The film was originally confirmed in early August, seemingly as a distraction to the chaos all over the Warner side of Warner Bros. Discovery. This included write-offs, like the Batgirl movie, vaultings, and project halting as happened to two Batman projects still searching for a home. The announcement was however soon after Phillips had first posted photos of himself with the script on Instagram.
