Gillian Anderson Joins The Cast Of 'Tron: Ares'
Tron: Ares has added Gillian Anderson to its already stacked cast. She joins Sarah Desjardins, Greta Lee, Jared Leto, Cameron Monaghan, Evan Peters, and Jodie Turner-Smith. Joachim Rønning, who broke out with Kon Tiki in 2012, is directing the film. Tron: Ares will be the director’s third film for Disney having done Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales and Maleficent: Mistress of Evil.
The writers are Jack Thorne and Jesse Wigutow. Russell Allen is the executive producer. Jared Leto, Emma Ludbrook, and Jeffrey Springer are producing. Tron: Ares will be the third title in the Tron franchise following 1982’s Tron and 2010’s Tron: Legacy.

Gillian Anderson rose to fame in the 1990s with her role as Dana Scully on The X-files. More recently, she has appeared in The Crown and Sex Education, both on Netflix. She will also appear in the upcoming film The Salt Path with Jason Isaacs. She has won two Emmys, two Golden Globes, and a SAG award.
Anderson recently finished filming Scoop. She plays Emily Maitlis, the BBC journalist who interviewed Prince Andrew about his ties to Jeffrey Epstein that caused Andrew to resign his royal duties.
Production of Tron: Ares was delayed by the recent Hollywood strikes. There is no release date as of yet.
