Get A First Look At Tom Hardy's New Role
Tom Hardy, known to nerd culture for his roles in the Venom trilogy, The Last Jedi, and Inception, has been cast in his newest role, the lead in Gareth Evans’ upcoming movie HAVOC.
“When it comes to a film called HAVOC, with me and Tom Hardy, we deliver on the action front,” Evans said. “That’s the primary focus. But with Tom, what you get as well is an intensely muscular central performance and really well-developed character. There’s a lot going on under the hood.” When he said ‘under the hood’, he was talking about Hardy’s character, a cop named Walker rescuing the mayor’s nephew. Said mayor will be played by Forest Whitaker. “He’s basically on clean-up duty, and he has to navigate this broken city in order to get to him first. That’s the propulsive mission he goes on, and because it’s me, it doesn’t go well for a long time,” Evans finished.
The film was delayed due to many reshoots. “It’s had a profound effect on the film,” Evans said of the reshoots. “It allowed me to better streamline it, and make it what it was always intended to be, which is a blistering, fast-paced action-thriller with nods to the Hong Kong cinema that I grew up watching.”
HAVOC will be coming to Netflix in 2025, although no date has officially been set yet.
