The Boys’ spinoff series, Gen V, has not yet been released and season 2 is already in the news. Following the first season’s good reception by the streaming platform’s teams, a writing team will soon be picking up the penning of the second season.

Set in the same world as The Boys, this series will explore the life of a group of young adult superheroes who go to an American college exclusively made for supes. The latter will compete for the school’s top rankings by putting their new abilities and moral boundaries to the test.

In this project, we’ll be seeing a completely new core cast including Jaz Sinclair, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Chance Perdomo, Clancy Brown, Jason Ritter, Maddie Phillips, P.J Byrne, Asa Germann, Shelley Conn, Sean Patrick Thomas, Lizze Broadway, Elana Dunkelman, London Thor, and Marco Pigossi. Besides, actors Jessie T. Usher and Colby Minifie will be reprising their respective roles from The Boys, namely A-Train and Ashley Barret.

For this second season, Michele Fazekas will be exclusively at the helm of the project as her long-time business partner, Tara Butters, with whom she worked on the first season, is taking a break from the industry. Fazekas and Butters have been working together in this business for the last two and a half decades and their separation was utterly amicable. From their careers stemmed such series as Reaper, Emergence, and Marvel’s Agent Carter. Their work on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit also led them to earn two Writers Guild of America Awards nominations.

Gen V is expected to premiere on Amazon Prime in 2023. You can watch Gen V’s trailer right below.
