Like the days of old, did you ever realize that before the remake from Tim Burton in 2001 and reboot in 2011 that there was five movies in the Planet Of The Apes franchise through the 60s and 70s?  Well it appears history is repeating with the latest film in the rebooted franchise. The First trailer for the 5th instalment in the modern franchise, Kingdom Of The Planet Of The Apes has had its first trailer released.

Coming in 2024, Kingdom will take place many years after the events of the last film, War For The Planet Of The Apes, which saw the main ape, Caesar, famously played by Andy Serkis, has passed away due Simian flu.  And now his son and family are trying to maintain this new normal.

RELATED:

The film appears to be implying the Simian Flu has made Apes the top of the food chain with humans becoming mute, feral creatures. If you feel like this is familiar territory, we appear to be going back to the original film with Charlton Heston where he ends up on a planet where Apes are the top species on earth and humans are mute feral creatures. And guess what planet that is?  So we appear to be moving into a time loop.

Is it too early to hypothesize who the Charlton Heston character will be played by when we get to Planet Of The Apes?
