Filoni Reveals The Status Of 'The Mandalorian And Grogu'
With Skeleton Crew’s premier firmly behind us, news outlets have begun looking for other Star Wars news. extratv managed to get an interview with Dave Filoni, who offered some schedule updates: The Mandalorian and Grogu has apparently finished filming, while he is still working on Ahsoka season 2, being the only writer presently attached to the project. This gives him six months until planned summer 2025 filming placement, and Star Wars News Net has speculated that more news could be coming at Star Wars Celebration, due to be held in April. The Mandalorian film also seems on track for its May 22, 2026 release date.
Of all the Star Wars shows on Disney+, The Mandalorian is easily the crown jewel of them all. One of the streaming service’s biggest hits, it quickly spawned several spin-offs and related series and helped keep the brand in the public eye after the end of the Skywalker Saga. Dave Filoni, who has been with the franchise since Star Wars: The Clone Wars, oversaw The Mandalorian and related shows, and has been involved with the fans since day one.
