Fans of R. L. Stine’s classic YA Fear Street series and Netflix’s Fear Street Trilogy were given an early Christmas present! Rumors have been circulating since the trilogy’s release last year that there would be more Fear Street films in the future. Even though neither Netflix nor R.L. Stine would confirm or deny the rumors, fans finally have answers. Fear Street 4 is officially a go at Netflix!

Netflix’s Fear Street Trilogy took Stine’s classic books and created three origin films set in 1994, 1978, and 1666. The films followed the cursed teens of Shadyside as they would go on murderous rampages throughout the town time and time again. No one was quite sure why, so they blamed the “evil” Fier family, who had supposedly cursed the town in 1666 when it was first founded.

The newest film has secured up-and-coming horror director Chloe Okuno for the project. Okuno made a name for herself with her 2014 short film Slut, which led to her writing and directing Storm Drain, a featured segment of V/H/S/94. She made her feature-length directorial debut earlier this year with her horror-thriller Watcher

There is no word on if this fourth film will be a stand-alone, a part of the trilogy, or the start of a new trilogy. The only other information currently known about the project is that Peter Chernin, Jenno Topping, and David Ready are returning to produce.

The Fear Street Trilogy is currently available to stream on Netflix.
