Ezra Miller Attends Meeting With Warner Bros Leadership About Future Of ‘The Flash’
Many films have been on Warner Bros. chopping block since their merger with Discovery. One of the biggest titles to be cut was Batgirl, after the higher-ups didn’t think it would perform well. Off the back of the cancellation, Warner Bros. has been bombarded with complaints on the internet about why this film would be cut and not The Flash after Ezra Miller’s numerous strings of controversy. A recent report from Hollywood Reporter shows that canceling The Flash has been on their mind, though they are hesitant to do so.
The day that the screening was held for Batgirl’s cast and crew for their canceled film, it came in that Ezra Miller was on the lot the same day to meet with WB’s leadership to discuss the future of his movie. Though Miller has been the center of many controversies, early screenings of The Flash are getting the most positive reviews since The Dark Knight Trilogy. Zaslav has stated that he only wants sure hits for the future of DC, and this project appears to be one aside from the glaring issue of the star of the film.

While the details of the meeting have not surfaced, according to the sources for The Hollywood Reporter, Miller only began seeking help for his mental health after he learned that WB was considering scrapping the movie in its entirety. He doesn’t want to lose the role, and WB doesn’t want to lose a possible hit for the studio, going as far as to keep the current release date even after they’ve changed Shazam Fury of The Gods and Aquaman The Lost Kingdom.
Even if the test audiences are to be trusted, it’s tough to sell a movie when it is surrounded by as much controversy as this one. Many online have called for a boycott of the film. Whether or not it will see the light of is yet to be seen, but if it is scrapped, it’s notable that this will also be the third time Michael Keaton has had an appearance as Batman/Bruce Wayne cut after it was reported that Affleck will replace him in Aquaman The Lost Kingdom and the cancellation of Batgirl. This film will not have a future nor Miller’s portrayal as Flash if he does not begin to take his mental health seriously and take action to right his wrongs.
