The end of an era may soon be arriving with the final installment to EA’s Jedi franchise. This video game series follows Order 66 survivor Cal Kestis as he makes new connections, fights against the oppression of the Empire, and attempts to rebuild the Jedi Order. Both installments saw a fair bit of success from die-hard fans and critics alike. According to Games Radar, Laura Miele, the current president of EA Entertainment and Technology, commented on the success of the storyline and the upcoming end.

Miele explained, "Over 40 million Star Wars fans have connected with Cal Kestis and his arc of becoming a powerful Jedi.” The president continued, touching on the end of the series, “Respawn is working hard to bring the final chapter of this thrilling story to players." This implies that the next game will be the final one, tying off the story and closing a curtain on this arc. Incidentally, that would make the series a trilogy similar to the main film installments as well.

EA’s Jedi title began with Jedi: Fallen Order. This game, released in 2019, introduced Padawan Cal Kestis, a survivor of Order 66 with a rare Force ability called psychometry. He catches the attention of Inquisitors as he finds new allies and moves to rebuild the Jedi Order before ultimately coming to a different decision. It is available on the Xbox One and Series X/S, Windows, and the PlayStation 4 and 5. The second title, Jedi: Survivor, continued the previous story with a time-skip of five years. The game sees Cal actively fighting against the Empire alongside different allies, facing betrayal and Darksiders while still trying to preserve what’s left of the Order; the Hidden Path becomes more relevant in this installment as well. It is available on Windows, Xbox Series X/S and One, and the PS4 and 5. The third installment has yet to be officially named; details are being held in tightly at this time.
