We know that Johnson pulled some strings to bring Superman back to the table, which is now more likely to happen with the departure of DC Films’ head Walter Hamada, who was against bringing Cavill’s Superman back to the DCEU and had other plans for the character instead. As for now, a new Superman movie, what could become Man of Steel 2, is being eyed by Warner Brothers. It is said to be produced by Charles Roven and is currently in search of writers.

Meanwhile, according to The Hollywood Reporter, James Gunn, the filmmaker behind successful DC titles like The Suicide Squad and Peacemaker, has reportedly proposed a new project (or two) to DC Films. Sources say Gunn and producer Peter Safran intend to work together and are in talks with Warner Brothers for one or more projects. At this time, there is no further information on what hero or team Gunn plans to work on and we can’t tell if one of these projects includes Peacemaker season 2.

A new beginning for the DCEU starts with Black Adam, available worldwide on Friday, October 21.
