'Dune: Part Two' Has Been Delayed To Spring 2024
The ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike has seen many projects delayed or put on hold. Dune: Part Two has now been affected, being pushed out of its original November release. It will now arrive on March 15, 2024, which was the original date of Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire. Both Warners and Legendary agreed to push the new kaiju film into April.
The delay for Dune: Part Two comes from the want for its star talent, which includes Timothée Chalamet and Zendaya, to provide a strong publicity campaign globally. Under the current strike rules, any actor may not work on or promote any films or TV series that they have been a part of that fall under an American studio represented by the AMPTP or other unions.

Legendary seems to have waited until the last possible moment before making the decision, insiders claim. Warners would have started the final marketing push for Dune: Part Two in September, which would have been limited by its lack of featurettes by the cast. A cast that also includes newcomers such as Florence Pugh, Austin Butler, and Christopher Walken, and returning cast members such as Charlotte Rampling, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgard.
The new release date for Dune: Part Two puts it close to spring break and the Easter holidays, which should allow it the same success as Dune: Part One, which was released in October 2021. The second part also won’t be released in the same climate as the first, which had to contend with the pandemic and a dual release in theatres and on HBO Max.
