'Doctor Who' Season 2 Trailer Has Just Materialised

A surprise trailer for season two of the new Doctor Who dropped this week. The trailer features the Doctor’s new companion Belinda Chandra, who playfully quips that she’s the Nurse. The trailer cuts to the duo experience several eras, including 1952, the 51st century, and 2007. They even enter an animated landscape brought about by Alan Cummings’ character Mr. Ring-A-Ding as they try to bring Belinda home. The wacky romp through time and space and the playful banter between the characters is balanced by the inevitable threat to all of reality. Not much is teased of this threat except a monster, a giant spider, and a hostile robot.
Belinda is played by Varada Sethu, a British-Indian actor who played Cinta Kaz in Star Wars: Andor. The character meets Ncuti Gatwa’s Doctor after leaving Earth in what has been two hours for her but an entire six months in Earth’s timeline. The Doctor promises to keep her safe and sets out to bring her home, starting the long journey through the cosmos. Then, the Tardis breaks, throwing everything into jeopardy. The new season releases worldwide on April 12 on Disney Plus and BBC in the U.K. Check out the full trailer below.
