Back in 2003, if you were to tell people that Disney was working on a film based on their scary haunted house attraction, The Haunted Mansion, many people would probably be confused by the aspect. After all, isn't it usually the other way around? While the film was somewhat of a flop when it was first released, many audiences still look back on it with fond nostalgia. Twenty years later, Disney looks to add another property into the "revive from the dead" category by showing audiences a teaser trailer for their upcoming re-imagining of the haunted attraction, opting to call it Haunted Mansion. Not confusing at all, is it?

The teaser trailer reveals an all-star cast of familiar celebrities that look to help rid the 'haunted' part of the mansion at the owners' request. Such celebrities include Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny Devito, and even Jamie Lee Curtis. The trailer also reveals that while the previous attempt at The Haunted Mansion was angled more towards comedy, the 2023 remake looks to pivot towards the horror side of the setting. Of course, that doesn't mean the movie won't have a sense of humor around it, and fans of the theme park ride will be reminded of their favorite parts, such as the music, Madame Leota, and the Hatbox Ghost (played by Jared Leto).

The film plans on haunting theaters on July 28th, 2023, for an early Halloween, with plans on being added to Disney+ later on in the year (possibly for actual Halloween, though details have yet to have been shared).
