It’s nice to see Disney+ putting more stock into Willow the series than some might have thought. The series, acting as a sequel to the 1988 film of the same name, had its first two episodes released on Disney+ on November 30. In addition, Lucasfilm has also released Warwick’s Journey, a short featurette released on Youtube about Warwick Davis. Davis revises his role from Willow the movie, portraying the titular character, a sorcerer who leads a party of adventurers as they go on their quest.

Warwick’s career is interesting. Due to his close friendship with Star Wars creator George Lucas, he has played several small roles in the Star Wars franchise during his career of over 40 years, including Wicket, the most prominent Ewok in Return of The Jedi. His roles outside Lucasfilm include Griphook and Professor Flitwick from the Harry Potter franchise.

Ron Howard, the director of the movie, returns in an executive role. Other actors in the series include Ruby Cruz, Erin Kellyman, Ellie Bamber, Tony Revolori, Amar Chadha-Patel, Dempsey Bryk, and Joanne Whalley returning as Sorsha. The first two episodes of Willow the series and the 1988 movie can currently be seen on Disney+, with new episodes getting released each Wednesday, with the eighth and final episode scheduled for January 11.
