With the new Avatar: The Way of the Water trailer fresh on many fans’ minds, Disney has announced a new charity program to benefit endangered aquatic marine life.

While many Avatar fans eagerly await the next installment coming to theaters in December, the cast of Avatar: The Way of Water is announcing the Keep Our Oceans Amazing community program, where anyone may participate by creating and sending their Avatar-inspired ocean creature. To create and enter a personalized creature, go to avatar.com/keepouroceansamazing and proceed by using the Virtual Pandoran Ocean.

For each virtual creature created, Disney will donate five US dollars at a cap of one million US dollars to The Nature Conservancy in efforts to preserve ten percent of Earth’s oceans and their beautiful marine life by 2030. Many of the Avatar cast members, such as Sigourney Weaver and Zoe Saldana, showed their support with a newly released YouTube video announcing Disney’s new charitable program and how the charity will go towards rejuvenating many of the endangered species’ habitats.

Visiting the website also allows access to knowledge on a variety of different marine creatures that could go extinct by the end of the century if action is not swiftly taken by Earth’s community. These species can include manatees, manta rays, and sea lions. The Nature Conservancy has provided an abundance of fun facts, knowledge on how to save each animal, and guidelines from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration. The trailer that inspired the eco-friendly charity run by Disney, featuring Pandora’s new beautiful oceans, can be seen here.

Avatar: The Way of Water, with all its oceanic glory, arrives in theaters on December 16th.
