Disney Has Revealed It's Movies That Are Coming To The Stage

Some exciting news for theatre fans. Disney is currently developing The Greatest Showman musical. The show will debut in the UK in Bristol before moving onto the West End at the historic Drury Lane Theatre in 2026. Tony nominee, Casey Nicholaw (Mean Girls, The Book of Mormon) will take up the director’s chair, but it will not be his first Disney. He brought Aladdin to the stage back in 2014. Much of the iconic choreography from The Greatest Showman movie has trended on TikTok at some point, so this shouldn’t be too much work.
But that’s not all. Hercules is also coming to the stage. That appears to be further along in development with music and lyrics by Alan Menken and David Zippel already nailed down. The show is due to hit London’s West End as soon as 2025. Casey Nicholaw is also helming this project so it appears he’s going to be a very busy man.

It appears that the popular Frozen musical is also going to be coming to Disney + at some point in 2025. The hit musical is coming to the end of its three-year stint on London’s West End in September. It grossed over 150 million dollars over its two years on Broadway. It’s fantastic that those who could not make the trip can see it on the small screen.
