Directing a movie is both very hard and very rewarding. Julius Onah, the director of Captain America: Brave New World, has put in the work, and is now reaping the rewards.

“It’s one thing to first start the job. It’s another thing to go out there at D23, it’s another thing to be in Trafalgar Square and have Harrison Ford, and Anthony Mackie, and Kevin Feige, and Lou D’Esposito next to you, and Nate Moore,” the director said, also giving credit to the talented people who he worked with throughout the movie. “I’m constantly processing it. I don’t think I will fully grasp what it is until I actually get back home and return to my quiet little life in Berlin and look back at it all, but yeah, you’re right. It’s a huge deal, and I’m really grateful.”

The movie was full of reshoots and had scenes leaked. It was also the first MCU film where Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson was in the leading role, instead of the role being in the hands of the more established Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evens. Although Mackie was the lead in the Disney+ show Falcon And The Winter Soldier, some fans were skeptical of a new actor taking the role of Captain America, though he was welcomed with open arms by others.

Captain America: Brave New World is currently out in theatres, and is expected to come out on Disney+ later this year.
