'Diablo' General Manager Confirms At Least 2 More 'Diablo IV' Expansion In The Works
After the release of Diablo IV, many fans are eager to learn more about the future of Diablo's story and what kind of content they can expect from the game. It's no wonder, considering players have collectively played for 93 million hours worldwide - that's equivalent to 10,616 years! In Diablo IV, players embark on a quest to uncover Rathma's prophecy and put an end to the Daughter of Hatred's destructive rampage.
When asked about the future of Diablo IV and its live service, Rod Fergusson stated, “Something we talk about is that we build things in parallel. Right now, as I sit here, we're about to launch the main game, we're finishing up Season 1, we're working on Season 2, we're working on Expansion 1, we're kicking off Expansion 2, all that's happening right now.”

Upcoming expansions for Diablo IV could relate to or build upon the return of the Prime Evils. Lilith initiates her evil mission by informing the inhabitants of Sanctuary that the Eternal Conflict and the Prime Evils will eventually resurface. Even though the Prime Evils were banished in Diablo III, Mephisto makes appearances throughout the game. Mephisto has two objectives. Firstly, to prevent Lilith from obstructing the return of the Prime Evils to Sanctuary. Secondly, both Lilith and Mephisto require humans to conduct specific rituals, and Neyrelle is aiding Mephisto in this regard.
The first expansion could lead players on a journey to find Neyrelle and save her from herself. In the epilogue, Mephisto and Neyrelle travel throughout Sanctuary searching for answers. The second expansion may also involve players hunting down and preventing the return of the Prime Evils once again.
To receive seasonal rewards in Diablo, you must create a new seasonal character. The first season is scheduled to begin in mid-July, with later seasons starting every three months. Throughout the year, there will be fresh quests, gameplay features, and updates that will have an impact on character progression. Yet, all seasonal content will be removed after the end of each season. Don't worry though, players can keep their seasonal characters even after the season ends.
