DC Announces 'Shazam! Fury Of The Gods' Will Have Its Own Panel At San Diego Comic-Con, Alongside A New Teaser Trailer
With the announcement of a Black Adam panel at San Diego Comic-Con (SDCC) along with a full-fledged trailer, it was only a matter of time before DC gave an update on the next Shazam! movie. Today, DC surprised fans on Twitter that the sequel will also have a panel at SDCC on Saturday, July 23rd in Hall H along with a teaser trailer for the film. While it doesn’t give much of the movie away, it’s enough to keep fans excited until a trailer is released.
The teaser is brief, only hinting at the hero’s costume as the camera pans up his feet and gauntlets before ending with Zachary Levi shrouded in darkness saying, “Sup, me again. Just being a tease.”

Shazam! Fury of the Gods teaser is in contrast to the Black Adam trailer, which is more serious in nature while incorporating some comedic elements. The teaser shows that Shazam is back in all his quipping glory, most likely with a new suit that could premiere at SDCC. The previous film was a family-oriented superhero flick, and we should expect nothing less from the sequel.
There have been rumors that Black Adam could appear in this film, seeing as the sequel will be released after Black Adam this year. Little to nothing has been revealed about the plot, so it is anyone’s guess at this point. According to IMDb, Shazam! Fury of the Gods will feature the return of the entire Shazamily that was first introduced at the end of the first film. Other notable names include Derek Russo as Atlas, Djimon Hounsou as the original Shazam, and Rachel Zegler in a yet unnamed role.
Be sure to check out Shazam! Fury of the Gods when it releases in theaters on December 21, 2022.
