Dave Bautista Says That 'Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 3' Will Be His Final Appearance As Drax
Dave Bautista, who plays Drax in the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise, as well as other Marvel properties, has confirmed that Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 will be his last appearance as the character. Leaving the role will be bittersweet for Bautista. He said, “I’m so grateful for Drax. I love him.” However, he went on to say that he was tired of the long makeup sessions. He also said that he’s looking forward to playing different kinds of roles, “it’s a silly performance, and I want to do more dramatic stuff.” Bautista is not the only cast member leaving their roles. Some will presumably be killed off. We will not know what Drax’s fate will be until the film is released later this year.
Aside from Bautista as Drax, the film will have Bradley Cooper as Rocket, Vin Diesel as Groot, Karen Gillan as Nebula, Sean Gunn as Kraglin, Pom Klementieff as Mantis, Chris Pratt as Peter Quill, and Zoe Saldana as Gamora. New characters will also be introduced including Cosmo the Spacedog, The High Evolutionary, and Adam Warlock. Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3 begins its theatrical run on May 5, 2023. Bautista can currently be seen in the Netflix film, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.
