Crave, a Canadian-based on-demand subscription service, has recently struck a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. Discovery for content, including HBO, Game of Thrones, Harry Potter, and DC Universe content, as reported by Deadline. This agreement encompasses new shows coming to Max, the rebranded HBO Max that will include items from the Discovery Plus library. The content included will be things like The Penguin, a spinoff of The Batman (2022), The Last of Us, Friends, and the upcoming Harry Potter series adaptation.

Crave is owned by Bell Media, meaning this agreement extends to the CTV app, CTV, and CTV.ca, widening the availability for Canadians. The rights for Warner Bros. feature films in their first runs have been extended in this deal as well. As Canada has a large French-speaking population, French-language rights for HBO and Max Originals, as well as several titles.

On the Warner Bros. Discovery side, the President of Content Sales David Decker stated: “Bell Media is one of our most important and long-standing partners. This new multi-year deal will ensure Canadians have full and easy access to our fan-favorite shows and movies and new programming coming from HBO and Max.”
