A new teaser trailer has dropped for Seth Rogan’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem.  The nifty style of animation for the film is reminiscent of the recent Spider-Man animated movies, furthering this style trend.  With this trailer, pieces of the cast have shown their skills, some of which you may recognize.

The trailer takes us to a New York rooftop where the boys are recording themselves doing a few tricks with fruit.  All is well until one of their weapons gets flung into the street.  The scene shifts to a montage of different action shots and a bit of humorous dialog from some of the cast.  It has the energy of a TMNT project and the comedy to match.  Check it out below!

RELATED:

The turtles’ father and mentor, Master Splinter the rat, is voiced by Jackie Chan.  This isn’t the actor’s first animated role; among other roles, he has voiced Monkey for the Kung Fu Panda franchise and a part in the Chinese Mandarin version of Wish Dragon (2021).  Ayo Edebiri is joining as the voice of April O’Neil, the best friend of the boys.  Edebiri is a comedian, producer, and actress who has held a regular role on the animated show Big Mouth and a role in Bigtop Burger, among other live-action roles.

Other members of the cast include Paul Rudd as Mondo Gecko, Giancarlo Esposito as Baxter Stockman, John Cena as Rocksteady, Ice Cube as Superfly, and Post Malone as Ray Fillet.  The voices of the turtles are Brady Noon as Raphael, Nicolas Cantu as Leonardo, Shamon Brown Jr. as Michelangelo, and Micah Abbey as Donatello.

The angle that Rogan and company are aiming for is an original one, their own retelling of the titular teenagers.  They will be “a new generation of heroes,” as the trailer puts it.  TMNT: Mutant Mayhem will skate into theaters on August 4, 2023!
