Return To 'Cities: Skylines' This Year With A Brand New Sequel To The Hit City Builder

Nearly 8 years after the release of Cities: Skylines, Paradox Interactive announces its sequel Cities: Skylines 2 during the Paradox Announcement Show 2023. The game is launching later this year and will be exclusively available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC

According to Paradox Interactive, Cities: Skylines 2 will improve the original gameplay and allow players to build lively cities of all shapes and sizes. The game will also include different types of economies and transportation systems, making it “the most realistic city simulation ever created.”

Released in 2015, Cities: Skylines was originally released on PC and Mac and was eventually adapted to PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC. Recently, a remastered version of the game was published on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Overall, the game sold millions of copies and welcomed more than 5,5 million players none other than last year.

Alongside Cities: Skylines 2, the publisher announced several projects in development that will also come out in 2023. These include The Lamplighters (later in 2023), Knights of Pen and Paper 3 (March 7, 2023), Life by You (March 30, 2023), Mechabellum Stomps (May 11, 2023), and Age of Wonders 4 (May 2, 2023) which is available for preorder now.

New DLCs were also announced during the presentation, including Crusader Kings III: Tours and Tournament (later in 2023), Surviving the Aftermath: Rebirth (Spring 2023), Europa Universalis IV: Domination (Spring 2023), Across the Obelisk: Wolf Wars (March 30, 2023), Stellaris: First contact (March 14, 2023), and free content is coming on its way for Victoria 3, releasing on March 13, 2023.
