Could This Be The Last 'Mission: Impossible'? New Trailer Debuted
Tom Cruise is back in what might be the last Mission Impossible movie. Last week, the action star revealed a movie poster with the film’s title: Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning. The studio also released a trailer showing Cruise’s character, Ethan Hunt, scuba diving, flying places, and brawling with various villains. The voiceover hints at lives being at risk no matter which choice Ethan takes. Angela Bassett returns to the role of CIA Director Erika Sloane along with a previous villain, Gabriel, played by Esai Morales. Christopher McQuarrie is the director and co-writer of the production.
Cast member Shea Wiegman couldn’t contain his excitement for the show. He said, “I’ll tell you this, Cruise and McQuarrie are not hyperbolic. They love cinema, they're both cinephiles. This thing is so good. This next one, it's really, really good. It's because it's grounded in character, and that's what McQ knows, McQuarrie knows, so well.”

While Wiegaman was focused on the narrative aspect of the film, fellow cast member Simon Pegg was impressed by the stunt work. He said, "I have just finished shooting, I've got one day of pick-ups to do. I've seen some of it. It's bananas. It's absolutely bananas.” The title implies that this could be the last Mission Impossible, so it’s fitting that the writers, actors, and producers are putting so much energy into it. The Final Reckoning hits theaters on May 23, 2025. Check out the trailer below.
