In this universe, everything comes to an end. Even the brightest stars are extinguished over time. Such is the case of Ana Ofelia Murguía, best known for playing Mamá Coco in the Disney/Pixar movie in 2017, who passed away on December 31st of 2023, at the age of 90.

The news of her passing was reported by the INBAL (National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature its acronym in Spanish) in México:

“With deep sadness we regret the sensitive death of the first actress Ana Ofelia Murguía, who was part of the stable cast of the @CNTeatromx of #INBAL and whose artistic career was vital for the performing arts of México. We send condolences and warm hugs to his family and friends,” were the words expressed by the INBAL in their X account.

The First Actress left a legacy of over 60 years of stage performances. Despite the lack of protagonist roles in her career, she is considered a pillar of México’s performative arts and its history.
