Brendan Fraser Shocks Fans By Dropping In On A Screening Of 'The Mummy' In London
Brendan Fraser took the opportunity to surprise fans at a double feature screening of The Mummy and The Mummy Returns at the Prince Charles Cinema in London.
On 20 January, the cinema was hosting a special screening of the first two films of The Mummy franchise in 35mm. Before the first film began, Brendan Fraser appeared in front of the audience, who gave him a huge round of applause. When it had died down, he gave a speech about the films.

“I am proud to stand before you tonight. This is a film that was made in Britain. You should know that! Even the second one, too. Be proud. Thank you for being here. We had no idea what kind of movie we were making when we shot this. We didn’t know if it was a drama or a comedy or an action or a horror picture or a romance…all the above. We had no idea until it tested in front of British audiences. Thank you for that.”
As a final word, Fraser called to the audience to support his latest film The Whale, in which he plays a morbidly obese English teacher who attempts to reconnect with his estranged teenage daughter before his life is lost.
The full speech was recorded by the Prince Charles Cinema and uploaded to YouTube for all to see.
