Blumhouse Drops Trailer For Upcoming Horror 'The Exorcist: Believer'
If you were one of the millions of people who went and saw Oppenheimer this weekend, you were given a great little treat that a lot of the horror world has been waiting for since the announcement that Blumhouse was going to be “reimagining” one of the greatest and some say untouchable movies, The Exorcist. But after watching the trailer it looks like we are getting a story filled with a lot of inside references and care was put into making this project. Add in a couple of surprises and we are looking at an exception to the rule that not all legacy sequels have to be a disaster.
The trailer gives us a great glance into the new story and it appears our old demon pal Pazuzu is back to their old tricks and a new generation appears to be in their crosshairs. What seems to build hope that we are going to see a successful sequel is not only the strong acting which looks like it is coming from our child actors who are played by newcomers, Lidya Jewett and Olivia Marcum. Marcum looks eerily like a young Linda Blair who played Regan in the original film. The incomparable Ellen Burstyn is back as Chris Macneil who played the mom to Regan in the original films and appears to be all in.
The film is coming to us from Blumhouse which can’t seem to go wrong with their horror products. David Gordon Green is directing and helped revive the Halloween franchise by not only making the film its own but also embracing the past.
