Beyblade Returns To Manga With 'Beyblade X,' Helmed By 'The Promised Neverland' Artist Demizu Posuka

The Beyblade franchise is still going strong, and there seems to be a new project in the works. Demizu Posuka, known for The Promised Neverland, will be at the helm of the new manga, Beyblade X. However, this will not be your typical kid manga. Rather than have a light, simplistic plot like a Yu-Gi-Oh and Pokémon spin-off, this title will be modeled after Kakegurui by Kawamoto Homura and Hikaru Muno. Kakeguri is all about gambling, as it follows a high school girl who navigates high school classes centered around card games. Beyblade X is set to copy this title’s competitive setting, so it will be interesting to see what Posuka will ink for the series.

The manga marks a new sub-series for the franchise following the Beyblade Burst line, which currently has a manga ongoing. There is currently no release date for Beyblade X. Though quiet, the Beyblade series has been going quite strong, with several manga and anime offshoots popping up since the original Beyblade in 2001. Furthermore, the spinning toys are still rather popular with kids and adult collectors alike. The series can be found streaming on DisneyNOW, Amazon, YouTube, and Crunchyroll, and you can catch the current series, Beyblade Burst Quadstrike, on Disney XD.
