'Age Of Empires' Mobile Game Announced
TiMi Studio Group and World’s Edge Studio announced that Age of Empires will be available on mobile devices starting next year. The real-time strategy (RTS) game will be similar to its PC counterpart, allowing players to build the foundations of their empire with base-building and combat features.
Players can select characters from various periods, such as King Arthur, Joan of Arc, Julius Caesar, Leonidas I, Alexander I, Khalid, Durgavati, and the Queen of Shiba. The game will not strictly be confined to an RTS dynamic but will include several customizations for mobile devices.

During an interview with IGN, TiMi Studio Group producer Robin Xin and general manager Brayden Fan explained why the studio chose Age of Empires as the next mobile partnership. Xin said, “The original title was how I learned to use a mouse and keyboard. So, when you grow up playing Age of Empires, you learn the different aspects of the game. First off, I was always trying to build my base to be more powerful. Then, I got into the combat. And even still, I’m hooked…I am personally more interested in videos sharing different tactical approaches rather than watching the game’s competitive scene. But just the fact that this series can offer different ways to engage with it shows why it's such a great title to work on.”
Testing is slated in select regions, and pre-registration is expected to open soon.
