After A Long Silence 'One-Punch Man' Will Return With Season 3
For One-Punch Man fans, the three-year silence for news following the conclusion of the second season in 2019 has finally broken. In an already incredible August, with announcements surrounding a Digimon 02 movie adaptation, Chainsaw Man anime release, and Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt revival, One-Punch Man officially announced that Season 3 of the international smash hit anime is in production.
In the announcement, posted on August 18th on both their website and official Twitter, the lone promotional image (illustrated by returning character designer Osamu Kubota) teases the potential future arc of the series.

The egg-headed hero, Saitama, and the monstrous villain Garou stand back-to-back, overlaid by a triumphant '3', leaving no mistake that One-Punch Man hopes to come back with a bang by bringing their clash to the screen.
No news about the studio that will helm Season 3 has come to light yet, although many fans are hopeful that Studio Madhouse- previously headed by director Shingo Natsume during Season 1- will return. The series gained international attention for the highly detailed animation and high-octane action scenes, mixed with the perfect parody created by Yusuke Murata in his original webcomic- and whilst season two retained the comedic flair of the source material, it had mixed responses to the shift in the animation studio, to J.C.Staff. Moving into a style that utilised 3D animation software and reliance on panning and zooming, some fans were left cold by the introduction of these modern, cheaper techniques, and it is generally agreed that the studio to head Season 3 will have a lot of people to impress.
For the moment, fans will have to wait for further news- but unsurprisingly, anime fans are very used to being patient. That leaves plenty of time to theorise on just how much of the One-Punch Man manga will make it into the new season, whether season two's J.C.Staff will remain to animate Saitama's return- or to simply get excited that One-Punch Man is officially back.
