A Remastered Edition Of 'The Last Of Us Part II' Is Coming
In an interview with Blender, The Last of Us series composer Gustavo Santaolalla has revealed that new editions of The Last of Us Part II are coming. Originally released in 2020 for the PlayStation 4, the new editions mentioned are likely to be released on the PlayStation 5 and PC. That would follow with The Last of Us Part I which had a remake for the PlayStation 5 in 2022 that then arrived on PC in March 2023.
As for how Santaolalla knows of these new editions, it appears the cameo he makes within the game is being expanded. “In the new editions, you can make me play certain themes and well, I can’t tell you anything else.” Residing in Jackson, the character of Gustavo can be found playing a banjo. From his hint, it seems the character will now be a jukebox of sorts, allowing players to listen to select music from the soundtrack.
The Last of Us Part II is set five years after the first, telling a story of revenge in this post-apocalyptic world. The relationship between Joel and Ellie is further explored, as both Ellie and newcomer Abby are tested in this journey that pushes them harder than they can perhaps live with.
