A New Adar Is Upon Us In 'The Rings Of Power' Season 2

The Orcs are here, but they do not yet recognize Sauron as their lord in The Rings of Power. Instead, they are led by Adar, one of the first elves corrupted into the orcs. However, there’s been a change in actors for the Orc leader. A role once played by Joseph Mawle in Season 1 will now be played by Sam Hazeldine. Hazdine knew Mawle, which will likely help the actor slide into the role, but it’ll likely take some viewers a bit to get used to the change. Adar’s roles will be prominent in the next season, as it gears up for release.

Adar is a leader of the Southland Orcs in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. He seeks to protect them from both Sauron and the elves, he is unaware the latter is alive. Adar’s army has battled both the Elvish and Numenorean armies, and he has even turned the Southlands into the iconic Mordor. However, with his main goals complete, Adar will have a different purpose, one which he won’t know about for a while. Rings of Power season 2 will launch on August 29, with the first 3 episodes available. Like season 1, eight episodes comprise the new season.
