The 75th Primetime Emmys will not be airing on September 18, Variety reveals. With Hollywood in disarray owing to the strikes of both WGA and SAG-AFTRA, vendors, producers, and others involved are being informed that their services will be pushed away from that date.

In a statement last week, the TV Academy said, “Like the rest of the industry, we hope there will be an equitable and timely resolution for all parties in the current guild negotiations. We continue to monitor the situation closely with our partners at Fox and will advise if and when there is an update available.”

The TV Academy has sights on a November date, but with no resolution in sight that will end the strikes, the date of January 2024 that Fox is planning to air the ceremony will likely be the final date. Though the ceremony is unable to take place on September 18, as per WGA and SAG-AFTRA guidelines forbidding working during the strikes, the Television Academy’s Phase 2 calendar will still go ahead.

Final-round voting for the 75th Primetime Emmys will still take place between August 17 and August 28, with the campaigning for Phase 2 moving forward without the presence of nominated actors or writers. Those shows included in the nominations that will be voted on in this final round include HBO’s The Last of Us, Netflix’s Wednesday, Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building, and Disney’s Obi-Wan Kenobi.
